I want to unlock my GSM iPhone 4S that was originally distributed by a carrier other than AT&T, but I don't have a SIM card from this carrier.

GEVEY™ Ultra S GSM Instructions for GSM iPhone 4S without SIM

Since you are unlocking a GSM iPhone 4S that is not from AT&T, you will need to re-program the GEVEY Ultra S turbo SIM using the white reset SIM included with your GEVEY turbo SIM.

WarningThese instructions if you do not have the actual SIM card that your GSM iPhone 4S was locked to. For example, if your GSM iPhone 4S is locked to Rogers Communications but you do not have a Rogers SIM card, then go ahead and follow these instructions.

Remember also that your GSM iPhone 4S must first be activated in order for the GEVEY reset SIM card to enter setup mode. To enter setup mode and program the GEVEY Ultra S, simply insert the white GEVEY reset SIM card with your GEVEY Ultra S turbo SIM together into your activated GSM iPhone 4S.

AUse Reset SIM
Insert Gevey Ultra S and Sim Card

Insert the GEVEY Ultra S SIM and the GEVEY reset SIM together into the iPhone 4S and the following list of carriers will be displayed.

The reset SIM is the white SIM card that came with your GEVEY Turbo SIM.

CEnter Carrier Code
Select Manage

Enter the Mobile Network Code (MNC) in combination with a Mobile Country Code (MCC) (MCC / MNC tuple) of your chosen network carrier to complete the programming process.

As a reference, the carrier code would be the MCC and the MNC numbers together in an array, plus however many zeros it takes to make up a seven-digit carrier code. For example, the AT&T MCC is 310 and the MNC is 410, so your carrier code should be (310)(410)(0) in a seven-digit array that would look like 3104100.

After you enter your MNC, press send to complete the programming process.

EActivation Success Screen
Select Manage

If the carrier code you entered is correct, you will get picture shown here.

If you are presented with an activation screen, it is highly likely that you have entered the wrong carrier code. Please eject the SIM tray and repeat the process with a different code.

BChoose Your Network Carrier
A pop screen with a list of carriers appears

If your original GSM iPhone 4S carrier that locked your phone is listed, just select it and then eject the SIM tray immediately to complete the setup programming process.

Note that the original carrier is not the carrier you want to use. It's the network carrier that locked your GSM iPhone 4S. For example, if you have a GSM iPhone 4S from AT&T, then you would select AT&T from this list.

If the original network carrier is not listed, select "Other carrier" from the list and follow to step C to enter your carrier code.

DEnter Your New SIM Card
A pop screen with a list of carriers appears

Once you have successfully programmed the GEVEY Ultra S by either entering the carrier code or selecting your carrier from the list, select "Accept" as in the screen shown and then immediately eject the SIM tray.

If your reset SIM is not ejected within 10 seconds, you might need to repeat these instructions.

Insert your GEVEY Ultra S with your new carrier SIM card in the GEVEY custom SIM tray, and then reboot your GSM iPhone 4S. Within a few minutes, you will see a change from "No Sim" or "No Service" change to "Searching" or "Signal".

If all methods fail to unlock your AT&T or other GSM iPhone 4S, either your chosen carrier SIM card is too old, you damaged your chosen carrier SIM card when cutting, your files on your GSM iPhone 4S have been corrupted, or you have received a defected GEVEY turbo SIM. Before calling for support, you should request a new micro SIM from your preferred carrier. A new micro SIM solves over half of all GEVEY unlock problems.

If you would like to keep your current Apple iOS and your GSM iPhone 4S is not Jailbroken, first backup your iPhone data with iTunes, and then perform a factory reset from your iPhone [Settings → General → Reset → Erase All Content and Settings]. Do not restore your data to avoid re-installing a corrupted file to your iPhone.

If you would like to update to Apple iOS to version 5.1, or if your GSM iPhone 4S is Jailbroken, first backup your iPhone with iTunes, and then perform a factory reset from iTunes using your computer. Do not restore your data to avoid re-installing a corrupted file to your iPhone. Also note that performing a factory reset will erase the jailbreak software from your iPhone.

After performing a factory reset, please repeat the unlocking process. Once you have successfully unlocked your GSM iPhone 4S, you can restore your previous backup through iTunes.
